School & College PAT Testing service

Why do schools require PAT Testing?

PAT Testing is the term used to describe the process of testing portable electrical appliances within a workplace. PAT Testing should be a necessary part of Health and Safety compliance in your school. Ensuring pupils and staff are safe from electrical harm is the critical. However, that doesn't mean you need to spend a fortune every year getting it done.

We offer a no obligation free of charge site survey and risk assessment which will take approximately 15 minutes. This will enable your school to setup a planned PAT Testing programme that meets with all the current required regulations relevant to PAT Testing in schools.

How long does PAT Testing take?

Typically, our engineers can conduct PAT Testing for approximately 150-200 items per day. The duration of their onsite presence hinges on whether your establishment already implements a checking system. It's important to note that not every item necessarily requires a comprehensive test during each visit. Conducting a risk assessment might decrease the frequency of annual testing for certain items.

Why do schools need PAT Testing?

Electrical appliances used by staff and students need a combined visual test and inspection. Schools should carry out a review and inspection every 12 months but this can vary depending on usage.

Health and Safety compliance requires a record to be kept of testing and maintenance of each appliance. The record should state who carried out the checks and the date of inspection. For educational facilities; canteens, offices, and student equipment should be inspected.
